The Wisest Advice I Give to Myself - Thanks to my Mom

My mom has told me many wise things over the years, but these three rise above the rest because of the frequency + how each has impacted me. I didn't even realize it way my mom in my head this whole time telling me these three things until recently because they are so ingrained into my thinking...

and I couldn't be more grateful.

I literally live by these three sayings, repeating each at least 1000000 times a week, and I hope I can pass them along to you (:

//1// "Don't wish your life away"

I'm a dreamer and always have been. While this has so many great qualities, it can also hinder me from enjoying where I'm at in the moment...looking so forward to the future, I miss out on being present. And there's a lot of great things going on in the present, we just have to look for them.

//2// "You don't know unless you ask"

Every time I take a long shot and ask for something, I hear my mama saying this in my head. If you don't ask, the answer will always be "no" and that's not something I'm willing to live with.

//3// "You don't know until you try"

My mama taught me to just go for it + shoot for the stars. If you don't try, you'll never know and that'll drive ya girl crazy. While I've struggled with the anxiety of the possibility of failure for years, this is the little nudge that gets me to try things and has eventually become my anthem of just going for whatever crazy, impactful idea I can cook up.

After reminiscing over Mother's Day weekend, I realized it'd be a disservice to society to keep these little nuggets of mama Miller's wisdom to myself.

Thanks, mama (:
